Acalypha godseffiana (Copperleaf 'Heterophylla')
Acalypha godseffiana heterophylla does not look like it should be called copper plant! The long, narrow, thread-like leaves are strikingly variegated dark green and creamy white or yellow, with no hint of copper color at all. (Note that in the early spring, the leaves start out shorter and broader.) It is an excellent companion for flowering plants in the landscape, such as Hibiscus or Ixora. It is a very fast growing shrub in tropical conditions, quickly reaching 6-8 feet tall and 6 feet wide if not kept pruned smaller. We recommend pruning to shape 3 times a year. It likes ordinary to rich soil, full sun or part shade and moderate to regular water. It is winter hardy in zones 9-11.
